Needlejuice Records invites you to peek behind the curtain with BACKSTAGE, the debut album from label co-founder Austin Ash Lemon’s band The Odd Ditties. The culmination of Austin’s 20 years of songwriting experimentation, this coming-of-age existential tragicomedy features 9 maximalist world-building micro-symphonies that defy the very concept of genre.

From the grandiose garage-psych title track to the prog-Dixieland-barbershop “Baby Goes Back” (about being born when Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back” was #1 on the charts) to the 80-piece orchestral closer “My Room,” this LP weaves together jagged sounds and peculiar images to create a truly singular musical experience.

Available 02/14 to stream and tangibly acquire on CD, cassette, and 180g ‘Prurient Pink’ vinyl. All CD and vinyl copies come with a magnificent 24-page lyric book.
