Ogden Edsl, or “The Ogden Edsl Wahalia Blues Ensemble Mondo Bizzario Band”, was formed in 1970 by Bill Frenzer, Bill Carey, and Otis XII. The first song Dr. Demento played by them was “Dead Puppies” which went on to become the most requested song of all time on the show (jockying for position with “Fish Heads” by Barnes and Barns). The band would go on to have dozens more hits on the show including “Daddy’s Money” and the infamous “Kinko the Clown.”

Ogden Edsl started out doing live shows in Omaha Nebraska in the early 70s featuring funny music, parodies, and comedy sketches. They also recorded a 65-episode radio serial. In 1976 the band moved to Los Angeles and released an album called Stuffed. Ogden Edsl was inducted into the Nebraska Music Hall of Fame in 2001 and “Kinko the Clown” is featured on The Rhino Brothers Present the World’s Worst Records compilation album.
